CENTCOM: We Successfully Completed a Wave of Strikes Against Targets in Iran

Al-Taj News – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced early Wednesday that it had completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets, revealing that the operation targeted sites belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including air defense systems, radars, naval facilities, and capabilities designated for mine-laying.

In a statement, CENTCOM said its forces had “successfully completed” a series of strikes carried out on September 1 against military targets inside Iran.

It explained that the list of targets included air defense sites and radar systems, along with naval assets and facilities belonging to the Revolutionary Guard, mine-laying capabilities, and communications sites, noting that “our strikes against the Revolutionary Guard came after its attempt to target commercial vessels and U.S. forces.”

The U.S. command did not disclose the number of sites targeted or the type of munitions used, nor did it provide a detailed assessment of the damage sustained by the Iranian facilities.

50,000 U.S. Military Personnel

In a message reflecting Washington’s readiness for the possibility of continued confrontation, CENTCOM confirmed that more than 50,000 U.S. military personnel are currently operating across the Middle East.

It added that U.S. forces remain on alert and ready to continue carrying out operations ordered by the U.S. president.

The announcement comes after Iran began a military response to the strikes, announcing the launch of missiles and drones toward U.S. targets in the region. The Revolutionary Guard also threatened to “tighten” the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
